Max Stapleton

Director of Communications

A Georgia native, Max joined Georgia Eye Bank in January 2004. He held the position of Donor Coordinator for several years before transitioning to the role of Surgery Scheduler & Supply Coordinator.

In December 2012, Max was promoted to the position of Donor Coordinator Supervisor where he supervised the medical screening of potential donors, donor family communications, and recovery scheduling logistics. In January 2015, Max was promoted to Manager of Donor Coordination and Communications. In October 2022, Max was named Director of Communications. Max and his dedicated and professional staff interact daily with funeral home professionals, coroners/medical examiners, and partnering organ and tissue recovery agencies. Georgia Eye Bank’s Donor Coordination team is staffed and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to honor the wishes of eye donors and their families.

Max earned his BA degree in Communication and his Master of Divinity from Mercer University.
