OcuCell Announces Funding from the Georgia Eye Bank

Georgia Eye Bank’s mission is IMPROVING VISION AND LIVES through transplantation of ocular tissue and cells, innovation, research, education, and collaboration to advance treatments and patient outcomes.  Here is some exciting news that aligns with that mission:

OcuCell, a provider of ocular cell therapy, announce funding from the Georgia Eye Bank. Founded in 1961, Georgia Eye Bank has provided over 60,000 corneas for transplant and is dedicated to improving vision and lives through transplantation of ocular tissue and cells.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In addition to the funding, Georgia Eye Bank President and CEO Eric Meinecke will join the OcuCell Board of Directors; and its Co-Medical Director, William Barry Lee, MD, will join the OcuCell Scientific Advisory Board.
